Hair & Cajmere
Yesterday I spent most of the morning with my amazing magician of a hairdresser, Lori Gross! My newest do' isn't new to me, it's a style Lori created for me last November & the same style I have her re-create whenever she finds me in her chair. I've kept my hair long & layered for as long as I can remember. And yes, it can demand some styling time; I definitely get a good arm workout whenever I round-brush while blow drying but the time & effort spent are worth it for me, as I personally prefer the look of long, flowing hair and at this point, it's just me. And to officially answer & defend the #1 question/assumption I receive MOST of the time: YES! My hair is REAL... all of it! I've never worn hair extensions... I choose to grow my hair long, the old fashioned way: with time! Long hair is an investment. It takes time, care & patience! It certainly won't happen overnight but if long (natural) hair is what you seek, like anything else you put your mind to, it's worth the effort! If boredom is what you fear during the waiting game of achieving length, take it from me... I've had the same length hair for a w h i l e & as much as I love my long hair, I easily found myself bored with the same stale look. There are only so many layers you can add or shorten to change up the same style, trust me, I tried them all. Until last November when I took a risk & added: bangs. Not side bangs... blunt bangs! & I absolutely adore them! They immediately transformed my hairstyle, my face... my look! And without jeopardizing the time & love invested in my length. But if you're not quite brave enough for bangs (not yet, anyway) try adding layers... add a couple that frame your face to start & eventually add full layers, with shorter ones at the back of your crown for great volume! And, if you're already mastered layers but aren't ready for bangs... you can always change your look with color! As of yesterday, it had been a good 4 months since I'd spent any quality time in Lori's chair & it was certainly time! As soon as I left the salon, I felt like I had been magically transformed back into ME! Don't you love that renewed feeling after getting pampered?! AND while we're on the topic of naturally gorgeous coifs ;) ... I'd like to introduce you to my always overly dressed & favorite tuxedo-styled feline, Cajmere!
