After a recent photo-shoot ended early, my photographer (husband) and I decided to take advantage of the remaining sunlight/hair/make-up and shoot by a local canal that we've been wanting to try out. Here are the spontaneous results... When it comes to spontaneity, just take what you have & run with it. In this case, a great backdrop, a random over-sized shirt & lots of sideways stares from passersby. :)

A BIG Exciting Announcement!

The BIG, Exciting Announcement is…

I’ve decided that I want to follow a long-time dream of mine and design my own line of shoes!

Why? Fashion has been my #1 passion my entire life. I’m obsessed with every fiber of the industry but when it comes to a specific piece: shoes are my “perfect”. Shoes may merely have been intended for our feet but they are my interpretation of art; and are the only tangible piece of fashion that I have ever had a strong urge, desire or longing to “do better”.

“These would be AMAZING, if only they…” “I wish these heels were higher!” “Those would be fabulous, IF…”

These are my usual half-hearted thoughts, even when perusing the most illustrious shoe stores. So I want to create my own version of the perfect shoe… and, in full disclosure…

I have no idea how to do it.

There is no complete handbook on shoe design/manufacturing, I am not a celebrity (of any kind) with a name large enough to be handed a shoe line and no, I do not come from a family of cobblers but I’m determined to pave my own way. I will absolutely need all of the help I can get; I'm sure I will make mistakes; I'm bound to learn a TON and I couldn't be more fascinated, scared or excited about all of it! In order to hold myself accountable, I decided to make a public declaration, rather than keep it a secret back-room hobby. I want to document this journey and hopefully help/inspire others to follow their dreams too!

I don’t know how long this process will take but I’m not ready to sit back and wait for my dreams to begin. The time is NOW!

**But don't you fear, the modeling & styling hats will still be in full rotation!** This new venture will be a passion project!

PHXFW presents JHaus Brand

Last night Phoenix Fashion Week presented the all-American JHaus Brand!
I've been secretly coveting this dress since I first laid eyes on it back in June!! So needless to say, I was screaming ecstatically {internally} when it was pulled for me during the runway fitting. Yes!! This full length gown is made of the most incredibly thin & divinely soft denim... THEN you spin it around & you'll find it's backless, with the exception of some perfectly placed chicken-wire crisscrossing it's back! It's truly an amazing & one-of-a-kind piece! Then again, I would own every piece JLynn Hausmann showed in this collection!

PHXFW presents OfraStyle

The first (official) night of Phoenix Fashion Week presented OfraStyle...

Phoenix Fashion Week presents Fashionably PINK

Phoenix Fashion Week kicked off last night with Fashionably PINK! A super FUN Celebrity and Breast Cancer Survivor charity fashion show, benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Each design that hit the runway was designed & inspired by the color pink and worn by celebrities and breast cancer survivors! A few of us Phoenix Fashion Week models were asked to be greeters & were styled in Wildflower Linens (yes, those are seat covers!)... bizarre but kind of fabulous & conversation starting, none-the-less! :)
