I've been a huge fan of The Doors since I was little. Thanks to my Dad, Jim Morrison's voice was often heard in our home, belting out tunes like 'Break on Through (to the Other Side)', 'Light My Fire' & 'Five to One'. Jim even sang back-up for my Dad & I during our road trips full of Doors-duets! Being that I was in Paris... I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pay my childhood respects to The Lizard King at Père Lachaise. Ensemble breakdown:

A MUST-see on my Paris itinerary: Le Train Bleu

Since its inauguration by Emile Loubet, the President of the French Republic, on April 7th 1901, guests have been flocking to this remarkable restaurant. Regular customers have included Jean Gabin, Jean Cocteau, Salvador Dali, Coco Chanel & Brigitte Bardot! A grand survivor of France's storied Belle Epoque, Le Train Bleu restaurant at the Gare de Lyon is a stunning reminder of when train travel was an exquisite sort of luxury. Not 1 square centimeter of wall or ceiling space is unadorned in this palatial restaurant, one grand staircase flight above the tracks. Nymphs and gods loll indulgently above tall banks of windows amid miles of gilt embellishment. Massive chandeliers illuminate colorfully painted ceilings and walls, many with scenes of various locales in southern France. - Chicago Tribune Le Train Bleu is truly marvelous & dining within its gilded walls was one of my favorite Parisian experiences. I shall return!

The Palace of Versailles is without a doubt THE most incredibly extravagant place Ive ever seen or had the privilege to explore! It is floor-to-ceiling gorgeous & gaudy whilst dripping in gilded bronze gold, accented with marvelous paintings, sculptures, tapestries & chandeliers at every turn... the Palace of Versailles is an absolute MUST-SEE!! From its golden gate to Marie Antoinette's bed(!?)... the hall of mirrors to the immaculate gardens... the palace is truly spectacular!! Ensemble breakdown:
